My son and I where at our first buds club open practice we where lucky enough to get seats right by the glass in the corner. When the leafs lined up to do some puck handling drills the kids all went crazy banging the glass at the players. Tie Domi stopped in front of us and my son along with a bunch of other kids where banging the glass calling tie. Tie pretended to ignore them and then elbowed the glass and scared the crap out them. He then turned and gave them all a big grin.

Favorite Tie Moment – TM
My most memorable moment of Tie Domi was during the 2000-2001 playoffs. The Maple Leafs were in tough against the Ottawa Senators in the quarter-finals, having finished nearly 20 points behind them during the regular season.

I still talk about the day (playoffs 2003/04) when Domi scored a pretty nice goal, I believe it was against Ottawa, when he got back to the bench everyone was chirpin’ back and forth and Domi signed his stick and threw it over to the other bench! Loved it!!

My favourite, most memorable moment had to be the entire 2002-03 season!!! Domi was on fire!! Not only did he continue to protect his team mates and be the “Heart” of the Leafers, he also had his career-high in goals and points! 15 goals and 29 points!! Are you kidding me? That was an amazing year for Tie and it was a joy to tune into the games and watch him work. Way to go Domer, you are awesome!!! Keep up the good work, you are the epitome of Toronto hockey!!
Favorite Tie Moment – AC
My memorable moment was watching one of your fights when you played for the Winnipeg Jets, where I grew up. You did the tug boat after obliterating your heavy hitting opponent. I remember it vividly because I was young (maybe 10 years old) and I played hockey and knowing that you were smaller then your peers but still had the heart to go toe-to-toe with the other tough guys in the league gave me the confidence to play the game tough and strong. I now live in Toronto and am a huge fan of yours. You made us all very proud when you scored that goal against Ottawa to give Leaf fans a hope that we’ll win one yet against in the regular season.

Domi wrestled with a spectator who jumped from the second row and landed on the glass separating the box from the crowd during the Maple Leafs’ 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. Hilarious 🙂

Don’t have one memorable moment. A man who plays tough, but proved in New York and by all means in Toronto, The man has heart off gold with charities and other stuff. Like Gilmour And Domi it’s is great. And the hall off fame will be there for Domi a man who should of been laying off with the rules,then he proves he can put the puck in. For a little a guy he’s on my all time top 10, and that’s good With Keon to Horton. Stay with the organizing the fans love yeh, not that much thou to kiss yeh but your awesome.Good luck on your career

My favourite memory of Tie was seeing him work out at the Pan Pacific Vancouver Health Club when I was the manager there. The Leafs would stay at my hotel when they were in town to play the Canucks.

Back during the ugly lock out time of the NHL season 2004-2005, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Domi at a local restaurant in Kitchener, where I live. I had my son who had just turned 3 at the time with me.

Just before the Olympics when the team was in a real rut…Tie broke out and scored in a game where they seemed doomed to lose. He is not known as a top scorer but he proved to be a great team motivator who steps up to the plate when needed.
